The Art for Commuters project was originally screened on the Onestop Network of screens during Nuit Blanche 2009
Each poem, created from a unique collaborative pairing, strikes a balance between the work of the poet and that of the artist. This project expands the possibilities for how poetry and animation can be integrated and newly experienced.

Brynley Longman
Brynley Longman is an award winning oil painter represented by XEXE gallery in Toronto. In addition to his oil painting, Brynley has become interested in virtual environments as a frontier art medium. Using the virtual world of Second Life, he creates immersive 3D environments you can enter and explore. In Second Life he has shown with companies such as IBM and educational establishments such as the University of Massachusetts and the University of Kentucky. Brynley often films these environments as machine cinema or machinima.
Longman graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design and studied in Florence, Italy. He also studied computer animation at Seneca College. His paintings can be seen at http://www.xexegallery.com

Dylin North
Dylin currently lives in Toronto and is up to his ankles in an Integrated Media thesis
project at OCAD. His work is slow paced and intended to simplify and spotlight small
significances. His video Memory Thief was shown as part of Images Festival 2008, his
pedal-powered flipbook Cycloscope was featured in Future Bikes and last summer he
animated crickets and movie posters for an OFRB PSA called Film Crickets.

Finlay Paterson
Finlay Paterson is an artist and animator, based in Toronto. He is currently studying Integrated Media at OCAD while pursuing independent projects with local artists on the side. He has won awards locally and provincially for his work in animation and 3D graphics, and is currently working on a character-based animation called Aiming at Mountains, Shooting at Stars. He has just launched a new website and blog where future projects will be documented.

Matthew Tierney
Matthew Tierney's second book, The Hayflick Limit, came out with Coach House Books in spring 2009. He is a recipient of the K.M. Hunter Award for Literature, and won 1st and 2nd place in This Magazine's 2005 Great Canadian Literary Hunt. His poems have appeared in journals and magazines across Canada, including Maisonneuve, The Malahat Review, The Fiddlehead and Eye Weekly, among others. He lives in Toronto.
